Preppy Text Tutorial 3

comment if you use and if it helped you!
This tutorial will show you how to make this style of preppy text. ♥

Step One: open your document, or if you're making a text, get the text tool and type out your text. Choose your font, and size, and if you don't know how to smooth and kern your text, we have a tutorial for it! :)

Step Two: Colorize your text, if you don't know how to get your colors/gradient for your text such as this, (you guessed it) we have a tutorial for it!

Step Three: duplicate the text layer 2 times so you have 3 text layers.

Step Four: your going to hide the top 2 layers by clicking the eye icon next to the top 2 layers and change the text colors of the bottom text layer to a grey color - I'm using hex code #333333

Step Five: unhide the top 2 layers by (again) clicking the eye icon next to the top 2 layers

Step Six: now make sure your top text layer is selected on your layers palette and change the settings to match mine below.

Step Seven: Hide the top layer only using the eye icon on the layers pallete like you did above.

Step Eight: Select the 2nd (middle) text layer. make a new layer above it then merge that 2nd (middle) text layer with the new layer you just created.

Step Nine: Make sure that new merged together 2nd (middle) layer is selected and go to Filter - Noise - Add Noise. Match your settings to mine below!

Step Ten: Unhide all your layers (again, using the eye icon on the layers pallete next to each layer) - all eye icons should be visible on all layers.

Step Eleven: Select your glitter (2nd // middle) text layer and make sure the move tool is selected & using your arrow keys press the down arrow 2 times & the right arrow 2 times.

Step Twelve: Select your dark (bottom) text layer and make sure the move tool is selected still & using your arrow keys press the down arrow 4 times & the right arrow 4 times.

Step Thirteen: now you're going to merge all your layers together and add a stroke (layer - layer style - stroke) im doing 2px and making it a dark color so I'll be using hex code #333333

Step Fourteen: Make a new layer. Merge it with the layer you just did the stroke on.

Step Fifteen: Go to Layer - Layer Style - Stroke again and add a 2px gradient stroke (using your colors!) Match your settings to mine below:

Add any effects you want (dropshadow, brushes, whatever) & you are done!
